Hi, I’m Mike,
I’ve lived in the community since 2005 and have served on the Board of Directors as the Treasurer since January of 2006. I was born and raised in Orange County, California not too far from Disneyland, in fact, I spend a lot of time at Disney in the summertime. I was the class of 1999 at El Dorado High School in Plancentia, CA. In the summer of graduation, I enlisted in the ARMY and served 6 years on active duty assigned to the 4th Squadron, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Polk, Louisiana. While in Louisiana, I got married and Brandon, our only child, was born a year later. In 2003, I deployed to Iraq. I served 11 months in Baghdad and 4 months in Babylon before returning home. Soon after getting back from the Middle East, I departed the ARMY and purchased a home for the first time. We moved to Arizona and bought a home here in Castlegate in May of 2005. I worked at MD Helicopters in Mesa, AZ for several months before starting my current job at DPS as a Highway Patrol Officer. I enjoy serving on the Board with an open mind and look forward to a better economy where our neighborhood will grow and prosper.

My first Arizona home is right here in Castlegate. Born and raised in the State of Washington with time off for a tour in the Navy. Completed High school at 17 with top honors and choose the Navy for my continuing education mode where I became a machinist mate 2nd class, a shore patrol and an assistant cook in the officer’s mess. Not necessarily in that order. I married shortly before my tour ended and brought my bride to Washington. Two years later we became the proud parents of two boys Eric and Brandon, mirror twins. Two years later due to her health problems making her unable to care for the children we separated and I became a single parent for five years. I worked in the shipyards in the electrical trade until the shipyards closed; then I moved on to an operations & maintenance manager of a brick manufacturing plant. During that time I met and married the mother of my third son Chris and only daughter Elizabeth. Washington is a beautiful state and I would still be there but my health needs dictated a move to a warmer, dryer, beautiful location. In the initial period of our move in we were doing many things with our property that caused me to be in touch with someone related to the HOA with questions, questions, and more questions. Being the inquisitive type I read and reread the CC&R’s and almost immediately became interested in the HOA mechanics. I look forward to serving on the board helping to do what it takes to bring the finances and the member desires into alignment.
